An
early "suburb" of downtown--now one of the most gentrified
and convenient urban neighborhoods. Laid out in the late 19th
Century, The Old Northside was home to many of early Indianapolis'
entrepeneurs and intellectuals. Ovid Butler made his home on
13th Street--previously known as "Home" Avenue. President
Harrison made his home on Delaware Street. As most properties
have been reclaimed for single family use and affordable housing
is being developed to the north, prices are steadily rising.
